Max Payne Movie Posters Come Out of Comic-Con
Fri, 25 Jul 2008 01:33:50 +0000
Out of the San Diego Comic-Con comes a couple of new movie posters for the upcoming Max Payne film. As you’d imagine, they’re all dark and gritty looking. The one above seems to indicate the film involves a spritual being whose main defining quality is a complete disregard for title text. The second one (after the break) is something I would expect a number of stencil/graffiti artists to rip off at some point in the near future. I’m a little hesitant about whether this film will actually be any good, but maybe that has something to do with the fact that saw Marky Mark’s last film, The Happening (for the record: *blugh*).
Wallace and Gromit Getting the Episodic Adventure Treatment from TellTale
Fri, 25 Jul 2008 01:11:27 +0000
It seems TellTale Games is making a name for itself these days by crafting episodic adventure series from some off-the-wall comedy sources. Their latest undertaking — in addition to the new Strong Bad games and future Sam and Max episodes — will apparently involve stop-motion characters of Wallace and Gromit. If you’ve never seen any Wallace and Gromit shows or movies, they basically involve the strange adventures of a wacky, cheese-loving inventor and his loyal canine companion. The game will be based on a series of films titled, “Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures,” and will follow the look and feel of the series closely.

Thu, 24 Jul 2008 23:09:57 +0000
DICE has said before that they were testing Conquest mode in Battlefield: Bad Company, which is the de facto game mode in every PC iteration of Battlefield. They’ve now announced on the Bad Company blog that Conquest is coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for free “soon.” With Microsoft’s stringent certification process, it’s anyone’s guess as to when exactly “soon” is.
Send Your Bizarre Creatures to Friends Using the MashON Spore E-Card Creato
Thu, 24 Jul 2008 21:02:34 +0000
Gaming TodayPlanetwide Media recently announced the launch of a new MashON Spore E-Card Creator. This free online application will allow you to customize backgrounds, clip art, and word balloons into an e-card to send to friends. Sadly, you can’t import your own creations into the program to send to your friends. It’s too bad really, because that’d be a worthy internet meme. That or a new way for people to spam each other with different “phallic monsters.”
Critical Finishes Revealed in New Video for Soul Calibur IV
Thu, 24 Jul 2008 20:49:48 +0000
It looks like Namco Bandai has unveiled a new video showing off the “Critical Finishes” in Soul Calibur IV. These new moves are essentially like the Fatalities in Mortal Kombat, except that they don’t actually kill anyone. As you can imagine, most of them look pretty badass, particularly the ones involving lightsabers. That one with the girl kissing Voldo is kind of weird though, but so is an clip with Voldo really.
New Trailer for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Has a "Hulk Fastball Special"
Thu, 24 Jul 2008 20:31:33 +0000
The San Diego Comic Con is underway as we speak, and with it comes a new trailer for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion. The “Fusion” in the title refers to how you can use certain superheroes’ powers together for more devastating attacks. Like its predecessor, this game will have you taking control of some of Marvel’s most well-known characters, as well as a few others. The game is slated to hit the Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii, and DS in early 2009.
